📍Vesper Wine & Books in Detroit, MI

Discover Vesper Wine & Books: Your New Favorite Third Space for community & a delicious glass of wine

Visiting Vesper Wine & Books for the first time was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of Core City in Detroit, this unique third space is perfect for book lovers, wine enthusiasts, and anyone looking to slow down and reconnect. It’s the kind of place where you can curl up with a new novel, catch up with friends over a glass of wine (non-alcoholic options available!), or even start your own book club. Maybe you just need a new recipe and want to be inspired by their incredible selection of cookbooks from around the globe?

This is the place.

Lately, my life has felt a bit chaotic and scattered (no surprise to anyone who knows me). But being in this cozy, curated environment made me crave the kind of stability and creativity that comes from cooking at home. Sitting down with my glass of N/A wine and a handful of cookbooks, I was instantly reminded me of my time in NYC — taking classes at NY Home Cooking, where I not only learned how rewarding it is to create something beautiful and delicious with your own hands, but I met friends from all over the world.

I am happy that memory was sparked so hard by my visit to Vesper, because with practice we really can teach ourselves to cook meals so outside of what we know! Once I got home, I found myself doing a few things: 1. thinking of what events I can plan for meetups there and 2. how can I optimize my kitchen to make it a place I love to cook again?! I used to be good at this…I can get back to it. There is nothing I love more than pouring something non-alcoholic into a wine glass to give me that fancy feel without the hangover while I roam about my kitchen feeling like Top Chef because I made the most simple meal known to man, but I did it from scratch LOL.

Cooking feels especially meaningful when you’ve set yourself up for success with the right kitchen essentials. A great meal starts with the basics: a good set of knives, mixing bowls, measuring cups, and all the spices and pantry staples you need. Vesper’s cookbook collection is perfect for exploring new recipes and cuisines—helping you bring a little bit of the world into your kitchen.

I love this cookbook I found on Etsy that can be fully personalized. Leave your own legacy!

If you’re in Detroit, I can’t recommend Vesper Wine & Books enough. It’s more than just a wine bar or bookstore—it’s a space that inspires creativity, connection, and a sense of home. Whether you’re searching for a cozy spot to read, planning your next dinner party, or exploring a new passion for cooking, this is the place to be.

Cozy AF.

If you are truly looking to get out of the house while it’s 18 degrees - whether on a date night, solo reading adventure, catch up with friends, Vesper is absolutely PERFECT vibes. Highly recommened!
